To create a TV advert for Vectone’s Chilli Talk brand, a challenger brand in the mobile phone market.
Our goal was to show viewers just how frustrating and inconvenient it can be to constantly swap SIM cards and remember special access numbers for international calls, and how much easier it is to simply use Chilli Talk.
We chose an offbeat stop-motion animation style to begin the commercial. We see our model enjoying a sunny day in a London park when, suddenly, she’s surrounded by bouncing numbers and SIM cards, creating chaos and getting in her way.
The scene then transitions to a smoother, live-action look. The mayhem subsides, and calm is restored as she pulls out her phone and effortlessly makes an international call using Chilli Talk. The call continues seamlessly through the night and into the next day, highlighting the simplicity and convenience of the service.
This project marks Wonderpunch’s first venture into combining stop-motion with live-action footage, and we believe the technique effectively conveys the message.
The commercial not only entertains but also clearly illustrates the key benefits of Chilli Talk, making it the go-to choice for international calls.
