Unilever

The Brief

In 2021, Unilever sought to revolutionize their global workforce training by moving away from a static curriculum and lesson-based approach. The client ask was “an awards winning binge-worthy series suitable for Netflix”.

The Concept

We produced a Netflix-style drama spanning four episodes, followed by interactive training sessions based on the content, all created to broadcast quality standards. Utilising trained actors, we crafted engaging storytelling at its core. Each episode, centered around a fictional team, vividly portrayed challenges individuals may encounter. After each episode, a brief synopsis and scenario-based questions facilitated discussion. Delivered in 15 languages worldwide, it sparked meaningful conversations, increased training engagement, and empowered individuals to better relate and address potential breaches of Unilever’s code of conduct.

The results within the business were ground-breaking, demonstrating significant increases in engagement and completion rates, as well as in participants’ understanding and confidence in raising concerns. Delivering training through a drama series grounded in real-life Unilever situations, interweaving different stories into a concise series, brought learning to life in a compelling, binge-worthy manner.

Subsequent seasons in 2022 and 2023 continued the incredible results. In 2021, prior to Integrity Matters, 961 potential breaches were reported. In 2022, this figure rose to 1,152—an increase of 21%. In 2023, it further increased to 1,390, representing another 21% rise.
